Fun Fact: As a freshman, Ed excelled on his high school Track & Field team, particularly in the long jump event, achieving an impressive 21' 6". It may not have been Olympic-worthy, but was his personal best.

Edward Avila

Founder

Edward Avila is the Founder of BullishIQ. With 30 years of experience in Silicon Valley, he has successfully led global Talent Acquisition teams across both corporate and startup environments. A seasoned expert in identifying and attracting top talent, Edward has built high-performing teams that drive business growth. His deep understanding of People and Talent strategy continues to shape innovative hiring practices and elevate industry standards.

Before founding BullishIQ, Edward served as the first in-house Talent Acquisition Leader at Alation, a data intelligence company, when it was a Series B startup with just 150 employees. In just four short years, he scaled the organization to over 800 employees during a critical hyper-growth phase. Now a Series E company, Edward's leadership helped increase headcount by more than 500%, expanding across four regions, seven countries, 50+ cities, and seven time zones. His efforts were instrumental in shaping Alation’s culture, contributing to the company’s recognition as a 5-time winner of Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces award.

Edward holds a Master’s in Organizational Development from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Loyola Marymount University. He is also the author of "Be Bullish 101," where he shares insider strategies from his extensive experience as a Talent Acquisition Executive, offering guidance to college students on achieving career readiness.
